Hi there from outside the box of LLBC zooming in like a fire breathing dragon just awakened by the oozing ecstasy of a dinosaur on a dreamscape, a new adventure has begun from the cosmopolitan sky and interspace of lawn bowling of men and women greens-bound! What can I see? How long has it been? A new board is born, a mix of continuous passion and positivity in their metamorphosing ideas. What more can we share? What new ideals can we get forged into this club and games...an unceasing immersion of social connections, fun and laughter, responsible community attitude in the life of its existence, like full members, or new people contemplating on joining in the evolving cycle of skill development and family like camaraderie.
And yes, I see bowls, in myriad colours, rolling down the enchanting greens, in planet-like spheres making its orbit around the sun, seizing the moment with its specially shaped lawn bowl-round one side and the other half flat that adds the challenge of moving and curving in another motion, oh the weight, power, forehand and backhand of it all. Seriously, one needs to get closer to the jack...In singles, pairs, triples, or Aussie pairs, one has to learn the rules of the game. Coaches utter the words: Nice delivery. Skips: More greens, more greens, 3 feet heavier. Consequently, Leads, Seconds or Vice contemplate and follow. Let it be. Let it be.
The President, Alan continuous in his passion to oversee the entire organization, its greens, finance, ensuring that every member or participant is welcome, and immersed in a kind of community gathering that cares.
The Past President, Barbara with all the years gone by, moving on to Kelowna with her husband Rob. They bid goodbye, so long farewell. Coach and a very good friend. Their minds subtly say please come back like a line on a song of longing.
To the Outgoing Vice President Bill, with all the kudos on games, running the tournaments, connecting to Seniors Society, publicity, the list goes on and on, we say "Stay, we command you," like a command to a genie in a bottle echoing a plea.
Bryan, the New Vice President, looking forward to a new tenure of responsibilities, first time serving on a Mission Impossible, no, not quite like it! We got you covered.
Meanwhile, the Secretary, Heather, likened to a Secretary of State of the LLBC, ensures that we get all the minutes, every bit of information from the top to everyone, all the kaleidoscopic threads and sensibilities of the work of the club.
Then here she comes, the Treasurer, Sue, she sees every number in the LLBC coffers, from the smallest to the biggest and nothing escapes her laser eye, every column validated.
Well I can keep blabbing on and on, you see but decided to have you folks have also a breather, because, there is certainly a lot more. You see some radio frequencies and my deep penetrating eye and antennae are sensing Ben and Elaine are on a sort of spontaneous combustion of brother-sister banter. Oh yes, carpet bowling is another of LLBC.
Ben says: My team will rise again! It is not over yet. So I tentatively exit for now, "May the force be with you and to all until next time...The Sequel...Signing off, Raquel.
